Daniel is a scrummy boy with looks and the heart to match. He is a beautiful blue fawn boy of approximately 28" to the shoulder and 4 years of age.
Location: Currently in boarding kennels in Suffolk. Daniel would love a foster home while he waits for his forever family. We are very stuck for foster homes right now with a lot of dogs in kennels, sucking up our finances, any help that you can give at all would be hugely appreciated.
Key Points: Relaxed, confident, beautiful looking, calm, great around other dogs, walks beautifully on the lead, travels well.
~ Personality ~
Daniel is a little darling who is described by the kennel staff as 'an absolute delight, a genuine and affectionate lad'. He doesn't jump up in the kennel but will rub alongside you for a fuss and a cuddle and is just lovely to be around.
~ In the Home ~
Unfortunately, Daniel has never been in a home environment before and so will need patience and support getting used to being in a home but he tries to keep his kennel super clean and loves treats so we are confident he will settle really well.
~ Other Animals ~
Daniel is great around other dogs and shows very little interest in small dogs or cats when out on his walks but a cat free home is a must at this stage.
~ Out and About ~
Daniel loves his walks and is a pleasure to be out and about with! He will need at least 2 X 30 minute walks although he will most likely enjoy longer and plenty garden play time. Daniel would also benefit from a chance to stretch his legs off lead a couple of times a week. This would need to be in an enclosed area away from livestock and public roads. He also travels well.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Daniel will make a lovely family member and should slot happily into most family environments although patience will be required helping him to settle. Please be aware that we do not home dogs to families with children under 8 years of age. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Suffolk to meet and collect him.
~ Where Am I? ~
Daniel is currently in boarding kennels in Suffolk. If anyone feels they could foster Daniel to help him on his journey to a forever home, please give us a call for an informal chat. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Daniel will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you would like to offer a new home for Daniel, please contact the rescue on 075 000 626 48 and ask for Bronwen or send them an email if available.
