Description

Buddy is a 5 year old Whippet x Greyhound. He is very slight and reaches 23 inches to the shoulder. He is fully vaccinated and has been neutered.
Buddy has had a rough 5 years. He lived in a house with 3 children who pulled him about and gave him no peace. He became a very nervous, snappy dog. He looks a lot older than his 5 years – not surprisingly. When he snapped at one of his tormenting children, the family decided he had to be put to sleep or go elsewhere. He has been in foster for a month. During that time he has gone from being a neurotic, unpredictable dog to a calm, loving lad who runs like the wind and just wants to cuddle with a special person the rest of the time.
Buddy is having a mixed diet, sometimes cooked food, sometimes raw meat. He digests everything well. He is clean and dry in the house. He marked when he first arrived here but that has now stopped. He would probably do it again for a short while in a new home. Buddy likes having his own quiet place. At night he sleeps in a covered crate which he regards as his den. He sleeps quietly all night and doesn’t stir until the day is well under way. Buddy’s ideal home would be as an only dog who had all the cuddles. He would like someone around most of the time. He can be left for an hour or so but will bark if it is longer. But although he would like to be the center of your universe, he is totally fine with other dogs.
He needs to have at least one big run a day. He loves chasing and playing with other dogs. He doesn’t have to live with them but would like some playmates out and about. His recall is good. He is very very fast so a home with free running is a must. He will need fleece jumpers in cold weather and coats for outdoor walks and runs. He does not want to live with children again, not even visiting grandchildren. He is hand-shy with children as a result of his rough treatment. He needs one or more calm, quiet adult to learn to trust and be happy.
If you think you could be Buddy’s best buddy, please get in touch.
