Description

Please meet the lovely Lily. Lily is an adorable girl who's only dislike seems to be having her claws cut as we think someone has hurt her in the past so she wears a muzzle to have this done bless her cotton socks :) She is 2 years of age and 25" to the shoulder.

Location: Lily is currently in kennels in Suffolk. Lily would love a foster home while she waits for her forever family. We are very stuck for foster homes right now with a lot of dogs in kennels, sucking up our finances. Any help that you can give at all would be hugely appreciated.
Key Points: Can be slightly nervous of people she doesn't know but really friendly otherwise, takes treats nicely, good on the lead and in the car, good with other greyhounds, confident with loud noises, will need support and patience to build her confidence, keeps her kennel clean.

~ Personality ~
Lily is a lovely girl who just needs the right family to let her know she is safe and that they are not going to hurt her. We feel that she will positively blossom once she is out of a kennel environment and with her new family. She just needs that chance! Please call us for an informal chat if you feel you could be that special person or to offer Lily a foster home.

~ In the Home ~
Sadly, Lily has not had the luxury of being in a home before but keeps her kennel very clean so toilet training should be very straightforward with patience and support.

~ Other Animals ~
Lily is very good with other greyhounds but hasn't met any small dogs (as far as we know) just yet so will need to be supervised to begin with and carefully introduced.

~ Out and About ~
Lily is good both on the lead and in the car. She will need a minimum of two 30 minute walks a day but we feel she would be happy with longer, and some garden playtime. She would also benefit from a chance to stretch her legs off lead a couple of times a week once she has bonded with her new owners. This would need to be in an enclosed area away from livestock and public roads.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Can I Live? ~
We feel Lily would prefer to live with older children or children who are well accustomed to having dogs and give them plenty of space to relax and feel safe. Please note that you will be required to travel to Suffolk to meet and collect her. Please be aware we do not home to families with children under 8 years of age.

~ Where Am I? ~
Lily is currently in kennels in Suffolk where she is patiently awaiting a kind home or foster offer. If anyone feels they could foster Lily to help her on her journey to a forever home, please get in touch. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Lily is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed. A home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you would like to offer a new home for Lily, please contact the rescue on 075 000 626 48 and ask for Bronwen or send them an email if available.
