Handsome lurcher Roo has lived with his owner since he was a puppy, but sadly a change of circumstances means that she has had to make the very difficult decision to look for a new home for him. Roo's mum was a whippet/greyhound and his dad was a deerhound cross, so he is quite a tall dog and weighs 29 kg. Roo lives in a large village in Gywnedd where his home is very near both the countryside and the sea. He prefers being in a rural environment rather than an urban one, so needs a new home away from a big town or city, and preferably within 60 miles or so of his present home. He is looking for a home in north Wales or the north west of England with a family or with an older owner. Roo is a gentle, placid boy who loves to have cuddles. He is excellent with the children he lives with and also very good with dogs of all sizes, but he cannot live with cats. He is really good with all women, but can be nervous around some men in the home, although OK with them when out. He is particularly afraid of men who are wearing high viz jackets and heavy boots. Roo has been living with another dog, a greyhound, so he would prefer to have a new home where there is already another dog. He can be left for up to 6 hours as long as he has another dog for company, but if he goes to a home where he is the only dog he will need to be with someone who is there for most of the time. Roo is very good on the lead and has generally good recall off lead. He has been fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you may be able to give Roo a new home, please ring his owner Deborah on 07578 261888. All home offers will be carefully vetted.
