Brambleberry is a branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust (reg. charity No: 269668) which is located in the Peterborough area. We started rehoming 27 years ago, and moved to our present location 8 years ago to provide space for our expanding kennels. There are about 45 dogs available for re-homing at any one time, of all ages and colours. Brambleberry is run by Sharon Saberton. She is a trainer and rehomes all of her own dogs but also takes in dogs from other trainers when she can (this obviously depends on kennel space). Non-chasers, non-starters, retired racers, ex-brood bitches and elderly returns have all been rehomed through Brambleberry. Sharon is very proud to be able to say that she has never had any dog put to sleep unless it was the right thing to do, as advised by a vet for medical reasons.

Supadog Greyhound and Lurcher will donate money from every pack sold to rescue centres which look after greyhounds and lurchers who are abandoned in the UK every year. For every small sack (2.5kg) sold, 5p will be donated to rescue charities, rising to 20p per large sack (15kg). The scheme is a permanent commitment and is currently the only one of its kind being run by a pet food brand in the UK. Supadog Greyhound and Lurcher is available from Burgess’s online shop, www.burgesspetcare.co.uk, and all good independent pet retailers. It costs £3.49 for a 2.5kg sack and £14.99 for a 15kg sack.

Finding Furever Homes (FFH) is a registered charity set up in 2013 by Andrea Newton with 3 main aims: 1. Find loving furever homes for rescue dogs in need 2. Organise fundraising to support rescue costs 3. Raise awareness of the growing problem of unwanted dogs in the UK FFH works with smaller dog rescues located throughout the UK. Many of these small rescue centres receive very little support or funding, whether that is hands on volunteering, dog walking, home checks, transportation or – most importantly – helping them to re-home dogs in need. FFH fundraises so we can support these rescue centres to cover the cost of veterinary bills and medication if needed. Through campaigning in the press and online using social media we help to find these dogs furever homes with loving owners.

Hound Hall is a place where all dogs can relax and chill, in a stress-free environment. Hours upon hours have been spent designing the build to enable comfort and enjoyment. The rooms have under-floor heating to offer warmth, a fresh air system for health benefits, socialisation for stimulation, glass doors to enable viewing and create a light and airy atmosphere, televisions, pictures on the walls, curtains, and windows for natural light. No expense has been spared to maximise the enjoyment of the holiday. Guests can watch the famous ´Dog Sitter´dvd for entertainment, or on cold miserable days the dogs can lie on their warm floor, with a lovely log fire showing on their TV in the background. Playtime is an important factor and alongside toys, balls, retrieves and play with other dogs (if agreed by the owner) mental stimulation such as bacon flavoured bubbles are on the agenda or stuffed kongs and bones. There is a large exercise area and and even a play barn for those dogs who do not like rain! we are planning a paddock for 2015. Even the most nervous of dogs seem to settle well, due to the environment, atmosphere and love & care they receive.

Pet portraits are probably the most enjoyable part of my art. Living on a farm in Dorset (UK) and growing up with an assortment of animals, I try to capture their unique personalities and display that in vibrant oil paints. I work from high quality photographs which I prefer to take myself if you are ordering Dorset Pet Portraits or surrounding areas (Hampshire, Devon, Somerset or Wiltshire) or they can be sent to me. I have painted a wide range of animals and pets, including dogs, cats, horses, chickens, alpacas and even camels. A portrait of a pet makes a beautiful gift or complements a wall in any room. Please have a look through my website for samples of my work. All portraits are in oils and can take approximately three weeks to complete.

Lurcher Link is a voluntary organisation whose aim is to try and save Lurchers' lives by liaising between rescues, stray pounds and members of the public. Many Lurchers are destroyed each week because the stray pounds are full and the local rescues have no room for any more dogs either. Yet in other parts of the country, people are looking for Lurchers to rehome. We wish to rectify this situation by being a point of contact for all rescues, the public and stray centres. If you can offer us help, practically or financially, or wish to avail yourself of our services, please contact us:

We are a small voluntary non-profit making rescue based in Surrey. Our aim is rescue and home abused, abandoned and neglected Lurchers and greyhounds in both the UK and Ireland. These dogs come to us for various reasons, some are strays, some have been ill treated and some need to find a new home because their owners no longer want them. We will also try to help other sighthounds and other sighthound rescues wherever possible. All our dogs are placed in foster homes. All dogs will be throughly assessed before going to their new homes to ensure as perfect a match between dog and owner as is possible. All prospective homes will require a homecheck. All gardens must be escape proof and fully secure. We will not home our dogs to hunting homes. All our dogs are microchipped, wormed, vaccinated flea treated and neutered before going to the new home. We prefer dogs to go to homes within 200 miles of our rescue, but will not rule out homing further afield if the home is right. Fosterers in all areas are very welcome (A homecheck is necessary). We rely entirely on voluntary donations.
