Rescue Information

About Me

This beautiful whippet cross is Koda. He has lived with his owners since he was a puppy, but sadly he has become frightened of other dogs when out, resulting in him barking and lurching in fear when he sees one. Where Koda lives there are so many dogs that it is impossible to avoid them and there are no areas where few dogs and owners go, and no enclosed fields where a time slot can be booked by people with reactive dogs. His owner has sought help from two dog behaviourists, but unfortunately Koda's reaction to other dogs when he is out and on the lead has not got any better. He is great with his owner's grandchildren and he is a wonderful dog in the home and loves to snuggle up with you on the sofa in the evening and is good with other dogs in the home. He lives happily with another dog and it is just when he is out that he is lead reactive. Koda is non destructive when left ( up to 4 hours). The behaviourist can confirm he is not aggresive. He needs a home where he will be loved, where he is allowed on furniture and permitted on bed - only first thing in morning for cuddle as he sleeps on own bed! An owner who is willing to either continue with his training or has a home where there is a good size garden/land for him to run so one to one walks are not essential He has so much love to give he just needs the right home. If you may be able to give Koda a new home, please ring his owner Tracey on 07790 124254. Koda is in Worcestershire, but can be re-homed within around 3 hours/150 miles. Home checks will be done by Koda's owner and a vet reference required.
