Atlas is a young lurcher with a wonderful temperament and so many great qualities. He walks beautifully on the lead, isn’t fazed by loud noises, children, or other dogs of any size, and happily approaches for affection. He’s also a dream in the car and takes treats ever so gently. Like a typical lurcher, he enjoys a good hour-long walk and then happily snoozes the rest of the day away. He’s not a jumper or climber and so far has shown no interest in getting up on the couch—he’s quite content with a comfy dog bed. Atlas needs to put on a little weight, but that shouldn’t be a problem since he’s not fussy about food! He’s enjoyed both kibble and raw meals, with a duck wing treat for extra crunch. As he’s still settling in, he’s learning the ropes of home life. He’s not fully house-trained yet and doesn’t know any commands, but he’s proving to be a quick learner, following the resident dogs for guidance. We’ll soon be testing his recall in a secure field to see how he does off-lead. At around a year old, Atlas is playful, easygoing, and an all-around lovely boy who will make a fantastic companion.
