We would like to introduce you to beautiful Betty, a 3-year-old ex-racing greyhound. After her racing career, Betty has realised that a slower pace to life is definitely right for her. Her idea of heaven is a peaceful walk in the countryside followed by cuddles and affection from her carers and a long nap on a comfy duvet. Coming straight from her career, Betty can become overwhelmed with all the changes of everyday life, taking it slowly and expanding her world bit by bit she has grown in confidence, and we are sure with a patient and understanding owner she will come on in leaps and bounds. We feel that because of this, she would be best suited to live with a family without younger children (13+). Betty has enjoyed leisurely strolls walking side by side with the other dogs in our care and has enjoyed taking in all the sights and smells at our local forest. Due to her past this girly still has a high chase instinct and finds other dogs running at speed and smaller dogs jumping about on walks very exciting, so we would be looking for her to be an only pooch or to live with another calm sighthound. She will also need a home without cats or small furries. Due to her high prey drive and being an ex-racer, Betty will need to be kept onlead and muzzled when on walks. If you were looking to give Betty an opportunity to let off any excess energy in the form of zoomies, there are paddocks available to hire where she can really stretch her legs.
