Dogs from Happier Days For Strays

Whippet

Covers: We are based in Sunderland in North East England and cover Wearside and outlying areas.

Happier Days For Strays is currently a non profit charitable company, working hard to gain charity status. Happier Days For Strays is funded purely via donations from the public and by events we hold regularly such as family fun days and companion dog shows and is administered by a dedicated group of animal lovers.

Our aim is that no dog should be left on the street without shelter, food or water. If a dog needs medical attention we will ensure they receive it.

Where are we?

We are based in Sunderland in North East England and cover Wearside and outlying areas.
Most of our dogs can be viewed at Ferry Farm Boarding Kennels which is accessed from South Hylton.

The sat nav is SR4 0NA (and NOT the sat nav for the kennels!) which is at the end of Fairmead Way (the fourth character is a zero).

At the end of Fairmead Way turn left down the dirt track, through the tunnel and turn left. You've reached the car park.

What do we do?

Well, basically we rescue dogs. Dogs whose owners have sadly died and are therefore left homeless, dogs who are lost, stolen, abandoned or abused. We also offer a rehoming service for those who are no longer able to care for their dog due to work or life issues. We don't differentiate. If a dog is in need Happier Days will help.

We prefer to place rescued dogs with our own foster carers rather than place them in kennels, although we do have access to a small number of units at a local kennels for dogs who have vaccination certificates whom we cannot place in foster homes.
